Oh! I almost forgot to give the update
Okay, I'm sure you may remember me mentioning the director of pupil personnel in my county. (AKA the DPP) Well, I had an appointment with Jason and it went pretty well. Two other homeschooling mothers came along for support as well as information. They both live in different counties than I and have great working relationships with their own point of contact.
We were hoping to impress upon Jason the need for respectful (read as non threatening) and *accurate* information.
Jason felt the letter sent wasn't threatening.... well, hmmmmm. I really shouldn't say that actually. In the beginning of meeting his was his statement but towards the end he did admit he wanted it to be "tough" to scare those who aren't homeschooling.
He also admitted he sent out inaccurate information. But, he is not willing to send out a new letter informing the residents of Meade county what the actual laws are. I have since tried reasoning with him again, via email. He maintains he,
will not be sending out a second letter.
Okay.
Hmmmmm......
Someone has to tell the other homeschoolers that it is actually a violation of Federal Privacy Laws for Jason to demand social security numbers.
Well, that's where the new paper comes in. ;)
