A mother's ramblings....

Ack! It seems that every day around lunch time, conviently after I have made lunch for the kiddos they suddenly declare, "I'm not hungry".
So, in the past I have said, "Oh, okay. Well, you can eat something later".
LOL, didn't work.
Later always came about 1 1/2 hours before dinner time.
Obviously they can't eat then. They wouldn't be hungry for dinner. :)
So, for now I am making them eat at lunch time. Seems like a silly thing to need to do but, such is life.
"Why?"
This is my son Remington's favorite word lately.
I think sometimes he realizes and actually wants to know.
But, other times it seems to be automatic.
My husbands cure for this is to simply ignore the "Why" question.
I, on the other hand, tend to explain one or two whys before I become frustrated.
Water, water everywhere.
A few days ago I thought we had a water leak. My bedroom carpet was soaked with water. I frantically called the water district, the previous owner and finally my brother trying to locate the water shut off valve. Eventually, I found it. (hooray for me!)
I called my husband who, thankfully, was able to return home to help me seek out the problem.
We took the marble counter top off our bathroom cabinet, cut into drywall, explored the inner workings of the plumbing and found the inner wall to be bone dry.
In the end, we discovered the problem.
Remington had been playing in the bathroom sink. (The bathroom is directly next to our bedroom.)
Apparently Remington had flooded the sink. However, there was no evidence of this in the bathroom.
It turns out the bathroom counter top is tilted slightly towards the wall seperating the bedroom and the bathroom.
As it turns out, the water from Remington's flooded sink ran between the sink and the wall, in turn into our carpet in our bedroom.
So, the problem is solved.
Our carpet is dry and Remington is now monitored a little more closely while he is in the bathroom.
Any way, this is simply a little vent of some daily trials of being a stay at home Mother.
